I don't know much about pickups, but I know that I don't like the Ibanez INF1 and INF2 pickups in my ibanez rgt42dx
I do like the rest of the guitar but since I have been playing my les paul and just picked up a sweet custom SG with EMG 81/85 active pickups, I just can't deal with the high-end harshness and metallic sound on the ibanez.
So I did a little investigation and was going to replace the INF pickups with another set of EMG's, but there is no place to put the battery! So I need a non-powered (that would be passive right? active means it has a battery right?) humbucker at least for the neck pickup and preferably a matching set.
The ibanez only has two humbuckers, no single coil pickup - I think the humbuckers are wired so they can act as single coil because the pickup switch is a 5-way. I am fine with changing this to a 3-way...
I would prefer to have a black pickup (chrome would work too, but not gold) but the color doesn't matter so much, its the tone I am looking for.
I guess I could get a set of les paul standard humbuckers but I was wondering if there was a good set of passive pickups that sound similar to the EMG 85 I could install in my ibanez.
Any suggestions?

I just called a local shop and they said they can add the battery compartment so maybe that's the way I will go.
