I was hoping to find a website that would host the mp3's attendant to my next set of songs, not to release to the world, but to be accessible to people who had a password to access the songs.

If I host them on my own website, Google somehow finds them and they become available to anyone who clicks the link. i want to prevent this. Are there any websites tailored to achieve this? Bandcamp needs lossless files. Is that the best option? Thank you guys and gals.

Bombplates* (see my signature) has a password-protected downloads feature. However, you'd have to make sure you don't post the link anywhere that Google could find it (e.g. I post most of my submissions to the mp3 clinic using this feature. Since the mp3 clinic is publicly-browsable, google could find these links.) If no one posts the links publicly, they'd be protected. (plus, you can password-protect them)

Does Dropbox do anything like that? I suspect they must.

* I work for Bombplates, so while I do endorse these sites as being very good, there is a slight conflict of interest in me recommending them.

Drop box has a "public" folder. Public in that it's not an automatic share with a preselected group. You have to send or post an individual file link to people you want to allow access to.
It's pretty good.

I have Dropbox. Duh. I never thought to use it for music, though. Thank you guys.
