Can anyone help me here. I have just purchased a tascam 234 syncaset and want to know if it can be used as a general recording and playback machine. How do I achieve this ( if possible). Can an amplifier be plugged straight into the line in jacks??? I have two turntables a mixer and amplifier and speakers and I want to know if it can be used as a normal stereo recorder/playback unit. Any info on this machine is much appreciated. Thanks Lee jep.

I'm afraid not, my friend!

First, you must not plug an amplifier to the INPUTS,... but maybe more appropriately to the OUTPUTS, and that would be okay.

Then, the 234 is a 2x speed machine w/dbx noise reduction, that's patently incompatible with normal stereo cassette decks.

It's a great deck for 4-trackin', though!

Sorry!

Good luck!

Also, you can't plug a turn table directly into the line inputs. Turn tables require an RIAA preamp to go to a line input.
