I'm trying to record on Cakewalk, but i does not record. My mic works, when i test it out i hear the sound on my soundcard. I made sure my soundcard is selected, and tested. I did go to options to 16 bits. I made sure its not in midi, etc. I press record and all i get is the green bar empty. Theres no sound wavs , and i tried to change the mic volume, went to accessories and made sure my mic is on etc. Nothing! I can import wavs sucessfully, but not record. Whats your suggestions???

by the way its Cakewalk Pro Audio 9

Silly question, but are you arming the track before recording?

Wait a minute!

Here is another thing I just thought of:

On the bottom right hand corner of your computer screen you should see a speaker icon.. right click on that and select adjust audio properties. under the Audio tab you will see "Sound Recording" click on the Volume button under Sound Recording. A new window will appear. Now make sure you have the "Line In" selected. close all windows after you have selected the Line In.

You will need to do this everytime you are recording from your Line In.

Hope that helps.

Are you recording to an Audio-track?

The Track-Source needs to be set to audio, not MIDI Omni (or whatever).
