Need help with Fostex D-90!

could someone help me? I borrowed a fostex D-90 to record a live performance, I experimented with it, and found out that it did not record anything. after pressing all the buttons and still no good, i decided to format the HDD. now i'm stuck - it formatted without errors, but it won't play anything further than 13 frames. entering any value over 00.00.00.13.99 returns an error - wrong data. i have no idea what to do..

This is a really general question. Without being able to take a look at the machine and play with it, it's hard to diagnose. I'd say a look at the manual would be first up. Go here if you don't have it: http://www.fostex.com/support/pdf/fostex/d90/d90_owners_manual.pdf

Fostex manuals can be a little frustrating at first, but they generally cover a lot in their own mixed up way. See if you can get anything to record by following directions in manual exactly. If you're seeing level on the meters from a mic/instrument, and you're hitting record and play and nothing happens, there's probably something seriously wrong with the machine.
