With vocals I'm using the aux send to key the compresser/limiter and also inserting it through the insert i/o jack for the recorded signal. I've got an EQ between the keyable input of the compresser/limiter and the aux send for trigering the on/off of the compresser/limiter. My problem arises when I try to set the EQ and the compresser (Attack release threshold ratio). can anyone enlighten me on how I should have the EQ and Compresser/limiter set? I'm using a DOD 32 band EQ and Beringer autocom pro.

Thanks a million!

Use the graphic by itself inserted into the vocal channel, cut or boost frequencies until you find the one that corresponds to the 'S' frequency that you want to reduce.

Patch the EQ back into the compressor key input and boost that frequency all the way up, leave about 4 frequency sliders on either side of that one centered and pull all the others all the way down.

On the compressor set the ratio to maximum, the attack and release times to minimum and the 'Knee' to 'hard'. Play back the vocal track and adjust the threshold until the 'Esses' get tamed.

Good Luck.

Thank you Vox! You made my day. I'd like to say thank you to eveyone on this forum, I've learned more here than anywhere else because of y'all.
