Hello I want to record a vocal track in Garageband, but I don't know what effect to use to get a certain sound I want.

I'll give you an example:

Well it won't allow me to post links, but in the song "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber (which you can look up on youtube):

Starting from 0:37, how does he make it so it sounds like that? I know it's not reverb. But what effect can I use in Garageband that gives that "double voice" effect?

Thank you very much for reading and hopefully I can get some help! :)

Without even listening to it...if he's doing a double vocal effect, then just double the vocal - sing it twice and apply FX/Processing as needed to each track.

This is correct. However you can get close to that with a pitch transposer detuned about .30% or so mixed with the dry vocal. That's the "Ozzie" sound. Still, singing it twice is best IMHO.

Sorry no one is going to get me to listen to Justin Bieber. :laughings::laughings::laughings:

The Bieb is ahead of his time with production trickery... you might pick up a trick or two..:laughings:

I was only joking,

OK so you won I listened. At the 0.37 part of the vocal was probably double tracked, there is also a wide stereo effect like a harmoniser (set a few cents off 0) or chorus effect added, and also a bit of the bloody auto-tune effect that everything seems to have now sigh!

You could also get this effect without double tracking by using something like a Digitech Vocalist, I don't know if there is a similar plugin.
