Need help..USB mic not working

Right now my USB microphone is not working, although it was a few days before. I have the "Icicle" USB adapter to my mic and it is no longer picking up any sound. Also, I have noticed that my laptops default microphone isn't working either. I'm using Sony Acid Pro 7.0 too btw.

9 times out of 10 all problems are traced back to a bad cable. Or improper settings.

I have tried two different usb cables connected to the Icicle adapter and it's still not working...I'm assuming it could be the adapter all together. But yeah, what settings could I check?

The mic routing to your sound card ..... but maybe the Volume knob/slider
