Need help setting up recording equipment

Hi there, I am new to recording and would like to get feedback on how to set up my equipment. I have the following:

1. Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer with firewire option
2. 2 Mackie SR1530z speakers
3. Pro Tools M-box mini
4. Macbook Pro

I also have mics and a half stack Mesa Boogie triple rectifier. Do I even need those for recording considering the above equipment? Can I plug my guitar directly into the mixer, use Pro Tools as firewire, and then record everything through garageband? How do I connect all three?

Any help would be appreciated. Please ask questions if you need clarification on anything. Thanks!
