need help on mixing and editing

im working with a focusrite pre amp..and a avalon 747 hardware compressor..n the pluggins im using is the uad-2 duo n the mbox pro ...i kno how to mix down the vocals already..but the only thing i have problems with is blending the beat with the vocals to make it sound more alive and professional...any soultions on making the hip hop beat come right with the vocals???
the vocals sounds crisp..its just the beat sounds real muddy and muffled..i wanna make the beat just as crisp..
And some times the vocals sound a lil muffled..depends on the beat too

And some times the vocals sound a lil muffled..depends on the beat too

Why not try searching along something around those lines. Another small hint, look in to some compression.
