Hi, i'm wondering if anyone can help me. I'm in a punk/rock band, and i need a mic for singing that sounds good (obviously), under the 150$ mark. One that blocks out most of the wind sound stuff, and the pops on p's and b's, etc.. also, what kindof amp do i acutually play it out of?? PLEASE HELP! thanx

You cant go wrong with a Shure Sm-57 or 58- both of which you can get for under a humdred dollars. You need a PA (Amp+mixer+speakers) dude and that's gonna run you some cash.

The 57's and 58's are a good buy. They can take alot of abuse. They have a built in wind screen. If you need more windscreen there are foam socks you can buy to slip over the ball of the mic. You can even buy a pop screen for it and stay under your 150.00 budget.

Correct dobro, the 58 already has a pop filter, but for $150 you won't be able to get a PA as well.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a brand spankin' new SM58 for 150 CDN. A good alternative is a AKG D880. it goes for around $140cdn+tax.It is somewhere between a standard 58 and a beta 58.
