Well I just bought from ebay:
Protools 8 m-powered
M-audio Fast Track Ulra USB
M-Audio BX5A deluxe
And we've got a few good mics in the band (4x shure 57, 1x Neumann U87, Beta 52A, and 2 Shure 58)

My problem is that I have a great Pc that was bought last october with gaming in mind. Intell Q6600 with 4gb Ascent memory, ATI 4870 512 mb, with 2x Seagate 1TB 32mb HD... heres my problem... Vista 64...

Pro tools 8 m-powered don't work with vista 64. I have a copy of Windos XP 32 and Windows 7 32 and 64. I am just not sure if I should install Wndows xp (only support 3 gb of mem). Should I dual boot?
And what about Ubuntu? Wont work either I guess....

Do a dual boot of XP and Vista 64.

It definitely isn't supported with Ubuntu.

hi i would go with windows xp because it could says max 3gb but i would work fine

 okay I mean this in a good way, but I'm pissed when I read a comment like this and get into wondering how this makes sense when you read it out loud or in your head, while or after you type this? I'm not an English teacher or major in English but I can see if you write phonetically:rolleyes: but your pronunciation is  ..lol probably spent two much time on this reply that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread..and I'm sorry for that!
But now to maybe helping your decision.... I believe Pro Tools 8 is Vista Compatible? Am I mistaken?

Hehe.

Yes it's Vista compatible but only Vista 32bit, not 64bit!
