Need help fixing my snares.

So, I took off my snares to tune the reso side of my snare. Now, after i put em back on and I turn the snares off, if I hit hard, the snares still rattle. I messed around with it for about an hour, trying loosening them and tightening them and whatnot, and I still cant get them to not rattle while theyre off with the snares still being on when I turn them on.

Any idea of what I could do to fix it?

I dont use the snares off much, but its just annoying...

Are you using the common nylon strap to hold the snares to the throwoff and butt?

Just sounds like you need to loosen the tension adjustment dial around half way, make sure the throwoff is in the "off" position, and then pull the snares tight and tighten up the clamp that holds it.

Now you can throw the throwoff to the "on" position and adjust the tension with the adjustment knob.

If that isn't solving your problem, could be the throwoff itself it wearing/coming loose.

Ya, im using the nylon strap things (the plastic looking ones right?). I dont think its the throw off, the snares only a few months old (black panther)
