Need help building a recording system

Im looking to make decent sounding recordings with my computer. Im gonna be recording guitar, bass, vocals and keyboards. Right now i have an AMD Athlon 1.4 GH with 384 MB of Ram and 120 GB of storage. Im confused on which interface and software to use. And is an interface and software all im going to need? Thanks for the Help. Dave

Assuming you'll only be recording one instrument at a time, using 1 or 2 mics:

For soundcards check out the M-Audio Delta 410 or Audiophile at www.musiciansfriend.com;
For software check out one of the Cakewalk products at www.cakewalk.com;

You'll also need 1 or 2 mics and either a couple of preamps or a mixer with inbuilt preamps. Check out the M-Audio Audiobuddy preamp, or the Yamaha MG10/2 mixer, again all at www.musiciansfriend.com
