I just Purchased my 1st Ok Audio Card It's the EMU-0404. I Also purchased a mixer because I have no Speakers, and I like to use Headphones when recording. The problem I'm having is when I go to my advanced Volume Controls and check recording all it has is a wave setting, and nothing else not even mic or anything. I ran my Emu card outputs to my mixer inputs, and I'm getting sound Ok I guess. The only problem Is that My Pc is not picking up my mic when recording, but i can hear it clearly through my mixer headphones. I'm familar with Cool Edit, and other software. So Will cool edit or any other editing software be able to pick up my mic or is it just my pc? Please someone help if you can it will be much appreciated thnx.

Do you have your mixer outputs going into the EMU inputs? Please explain your setup in more detail.

I have the Yamaha MG 10/2 Mixer. I have the EMU 0404 Pci Soundcard. I'm gonna try what you said. Am I suppose to have more than just wave on my recording settings? I mean I don't even pick up stereo Mix or line inputs. I'm gonna also try to download the lastest drivers for my soundcard.

I highly reccomend reading the manual twice for that soundcard. Its good gear but the mixer and DSP is a little less than straight forward but once you get it, it will be cake.

As far as your mixer, I would connect direct outs via the two aux channels so you have 2 mono or 1 stereo record bus in addition to your ST outs and run a line from your soundcard into the mixer (just be weary of feedback, i.e. dont monitor via soundcard if ST is turned up)

Thnx man so how many cables are we talking about here? All them idiot's said I needed was 1 Dual Cable 1/4-1/4. Am I gonna need more cables and what kind? What's an XLR Cable? Also the mixer shows rca inputs.

If the Emu has balanced 1/4" TRS inputs, use those (that would be tip/ring/sleave) for everything

XLR are the big 3 pin round ones that you use for mics

I get no sound at all when I plug my mixer outputs going into the EMU inputs. What's wrong with this? All my Emu sound card has is 2 inputs and 2 outputs. I have no monitors either.

You really need to wrap your head around the Emu PatchMix DSP.
Follow the advice you were given over at Production Forums.
