The H400 lets you have some different mixes, but only accomodates four sets of phones, $150.

my HA4700 does 4 different mixes, each mix can go to 3 sets of cans. One on the front and 2 on the back for each of the 4 channels.

It is made by Behringer but nothing's stopped working or fallen off it in the past year and it does get used a lot. :D YMMV

The Behringer headphone ampos work just fine, but they just sound pretty bad. However, I use them because they last and get loud enough:D

As for the mixes, there is a main left and right input, as well as a mono aux in on each channel. I also like the silly little low and high EQ and being able to mute each ear independently and to mono the input at the touch of a button. Be aware though that there isn't a true 4 mixes on it. Just the main inpouts, and the individual aux input on each channel.

The HA4700 will also allow you to plug in to the back and the front at the same time, and it sums the two stereo inputs together in the main mix.

No it's not a fantastic sounding unit but it sure gets 'er done.

Two units chained together (or not) would do the trick if eight mono mixes are okay.

I have two of the Oz HR4s, they have main and direct inputs on each channel, I think  the direct inputs into each channel are stereo. Each channel has two jacks, one front, one rear, that's eight total.

If you only needed two different mixes, you could patch all four direct ins from a single stereo source, and then the main in from your other stereo source.

They are really nice boxes, solidly built and I've had no problems.

Bad Reviews? Who cares, it's a headphone amp...

Did you read the reviews?

I'm not looking for hi-fidelity, but it needs to work.

I have the HA4700 as well, and it does what I need it to do. I think the HA8000 would be better suited to NL5's stated needs, though. Judging from the link he posted, I think he already figured that out.

Thanks guys, but I really need at least 6 channels. The berry 8000 does it, but the reviews said 2-3 channels were so noisy that they were unusable, and it constantly broke. The 4700 doesn't have as many problems, but it's only 4 channels.........

Naw man.
Ive owned the Powerplay 8 for 3 years and no probs, plus plenty of abuse.
Its a good buy for the dough.

HA4700 Yup!

I have had one for 2 years and it's still going strong.
A little noisy but it was $99.
You need 6 channels?
Buy 2 HA4700's and get 8!
You'll have 2 channels to spare and 24 headphone jacks.
Monitor Party! :D
