Hey guys,

I am working on a demo and I need some rough guitar tracks recorded. If you are a good rock and roll guitarist and you have your own set up going, e-mail me or reply to this message. Send me your rates.

The way I would like it to work is that I will send you an mp3, you pretty much add guitar tracks to it, then you send me the guitar tracks (wav).

i am thinking i need two tracks at this point.

i can send you ghetto midi examples of what i had in mind, but you are free to throw in whatever you think works.

the song is, like, 2 minutes, and it doesn't require anything fancy. it'd be real simple chords and whatnot, but it would require a certain feel.

anywhoot, look forward to hearing from someone!

Acoustic/electric? I'd probably be up for this pro bono.

also interested

i would also be interested in doing this for you pro bono. you could send each of us the mp3 and see who's work you like better. what kind of style is it? let us know.

Throw me in there. This will be fun.

Like shortedaman said, just pick whichever you like best.

I'll pm you my email.

I'll give it a shot. I'll pm you my email as well.

hey

hey,

wow, cool. that would be awesome if you guys could throw your own twist in there.

it's electric. the song is an alternative rock song. (i guess it's got like a thursday vibe? i dunno.) it's supposed to be very aural-like and spacey, with heavy guitars kinda like "explosions in the sky" and "silversun pickups" when they use that really reverby guitar effect.

i'm experimenting with the vox on this track, using autotune. (my friend is a big t-pain fan, so i decided to humor him.) i freestyled it so it's not really complete yet, but this song is in pre-production after all. (so please forgive me for the very rough tracks!)

since most of the song consists of playing 2 chords over and over, please feel free to spice it up with cool riffs here and there.

i uploaded the tracks to my server:

track 1 - drum, bass*, vox :

* = the bass is midi, really basic.

track 2 - drum, bass, vox, guit** :

** = this is a ghetto guit reference track just so you get an idea of what i had in mind. it sounds horrible, but it's better than nothing.

track 3 - drums, vox :

just in case you really hate the bass track.

all 3 tracks are under 4 MB so it should download pretty quick.

the intro for this song is open for you guys to make up whatever you want. i had some delayed guitar riff going over the bass line in mind, but do whatever you think sounds good. the outro is also fuzzy and you can throw something in there if you want.

the song is 120bpm, and for ref, this is how i tune my acoustic guit when i play along to this track:

from high to low: Db, Ab, E, B, Gb, Db

can't wait to hear the results! :) post 'em up here and let everyone share their opinion and vote for their favorite version.

man o man i can't wait to hear the results.

this reminds me of when buckethead was going to join guns n roses but wouldn't take the bucket off.

harrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hey, ya get what ya pay for. I'll do it for $350.

for $350, i will rent a rig and rec the guitar myself. this is a pre-production demo that i just wrote to experiment w/ vox, so whatever i get probono is just fine. i'm sure it will be better than the midi tracks i got on there now ; )

Explosins in the Sky rock saw them with the Smashing Pumpkins last year. If I get some free time I'll lay out a track or two for ya. When are you trying to get this in by?

If you want to give it a shot, that'd be great. I don't need this to be done anytime soon, though I was to hear it with real guitars within the next month or two so I could play it for my friends.

Man, what a line up. That show must have kicked ass.

if you like explosions in the sky check out maserati.

the last pumpkins album sucked. bigtime.

I'm willing to do this for $150,000. Fact is, I'm not any better than these guys (and I actually probably suck much more) but the important thing is that you're paying for the illusion of talent. You can't put a price on image, and the "impressive" factor when you tell people what you spent...? Well...let's just say anybody willing to put that kind of cash up for a guitar part is immediately granted cred.

Of course, I'm willing to haggle.:D

If you bring it down to $120,000, then maybe we'll talk.
