I am currently recording from my guitar into a J-Station then into the s/pdif in of my Hercules Game Theater Soundcard which has an I/O breakout box.
I want to upgrade the quality of my recording by upgrading my soundcard.
I need to have 1/4 inch line in inputs, mic inputs as well as s/pdif I/O. I would also like to have RCA I/O as well.
I am using Cool Edit Pro software.
Any recommendations for a soundcard?

Thanks
Len

Since you're already using an amp modeler, just about any soundcard with a 24-bit/96KHz specification should sound pretty damned good.

Do you really need the 1/4 input on the card? You could always use an adapter. Several of the m-audio cards would work for you, but they have a tendency not to have 1/4" jacks. SPDIF, RCA, and XLR, yes, but not 1/4" jacks.

What's your budget?

M-Audio delta 44 has 4 1/4" balanced/unbalanced ins.

Delta 66 has the same plus s/pdif

The Delta Omni Studio has the mic inputs, 1/4" line inputs and s/pdif......its about $375

not too many cards have 1/4" and RCA......really none that i can think of......

if you can settle for just RCA line inputs and s/pdif, the Delta Audiophile is $129

for just 1/4"line inputs and s/pdif, the Echo Mia is $169

all 3 are good choices
