Hi, all,
I'm hoping someone in this group can give me some advice.
I am trying to make copies of my demo to send out and I want them to be reliable. My acid test is my car CD player. If the CD will play there, it will play anywhere.
The cheap-o TDK CD-R blanks from Costco work fine, but if I turn off the car engine while the CD is playing and then turn the car back on, they start skipping badly. This only happens with CDs *I* burn - not commercial CDs.
I thought it might be the media, so I did a little research and found that Mitsui seems to make the best media for audio. The Mitsui gold CDs are like a dollar apiece, but the Mitsui Digital Audio Silver CD-R's got just about as good a rating (four stars) for about half the cost. Yeah, baby. I ordered a stack.
So far, they're awful! They don't play on my car stereo at ALL and on my home stereo, they're filled with noise - a sort of pulsing static in the background.
What am I doing wrong? These are supposed to be good CDs for audio! I am at a loss. I'm burning them in my PC using Prassi PrimoCD Plus. Other people make CDs that work. Why can't I?
Thanks!
Jody
