need computer guru to answer this question

This is beyond me but here is what I want. I need some help. How would I, or could I, have a camcorder going recording me speaking lets say and have a web site that people could log into to view me live. I know it "can" be done but can I do it cheap? Like with a camcorder firewired into laptop? You computer gurus might know! There are sites that do this but VERY expensive. Even if I could use a camcorder instead of a webcam would be better.I need to be able to zoom in and out etc. I'm not sure if messenger or those other webcam site can use anything other webacm?
