Will this Samson amp do me any good? I'm getting a pair of ART SLM1s, and don't really want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on an amp at the moment. Are there cheaper options that will work well in a small, one room studio?

That's about the cheapest monitor power amp around; it's not brilliant but will do the job. They must sell by the truckload.

I have one of these: Inter M R150 - also worth a look.

How much does that cost? And what size is it? It looks like it wouldn't be long enough to fit in a rack mount, yet it has rack ears on it.

It's 2U rack mount. Don't know about US cost - sorry. You should be able to find dealer links on the Inter M website.

hey garry, where in the UK sell those amps and whats the price on them?

hi toby. Bought mine used for £95. I know Studio Spares have them (google will get you their site - sorry I don't have it to hand) - I think they are the same sort of price bracket as the Samson (sp? - you know what I mean).

Um... At least consider a Hafler or something... I know they make an "entery level" Trans-Nova type that's very affordable.

Without accurate monitoring, the rest don't mean squat.
