I have a decent guitar recording which I have completed, the problem is that the guitar only recorded on the top channel of the track and not the bottom. As a result, I only hear the guitar in my right speaker when I mix it down. I have recorded several other times since and haven't had this problem. For some reason, I botched the recording that day. I've tried everything I can think of using the balance controls, etc. All I want to do is hear the guitar in both speakers because it is unacceptable as is. Does anyone have an idea how I might solve this problem? I'm using Cakewalk Pr0 9.01

Thanks, Stew

It's been awhile since I've used PA9, so I'm not completely sure what features it has, but why don't you try bouncing the track to a new mono track.

It sounds like you recorded it as a stereo track, but then only connected to one of the sound card's inputs. Hence you got a stereo track with just a left (or right) channel.

Use the Bounce to Track command, and when the dialogue box appears, look for a checkbox or drop down menu where you can select "mono" for the new track. Afterwards you can delete or archive the original track.

Note: If you have any realtime effects on the track, they will be printed with the bounce to track command, so you may want to remove them first.

Did the trick, thanks!

That worked just fine, thank you very much. I spent hours trying to fix that problem the other day. Thanks again, you made my day.
