Hey guys I am looking for a place I can get the info on how to build or buy some mic cables for some older mics I have.

Mostly the ribbon mic listed in the title. I have never worked with ribbon mics before. I am pretty sure this mic has bought the farm but if I could do this cheap it might be cool to mess with.

Thanks for any info.

From the Shure data sheet: http://www.shure.com/pdf/discontinued/315.pdf

"15 foot (4.6m) two-conductor shielded with Ampehnol MC3M type microphone on the microphone end"

Should be easy enough to make one your self. Email me if you need help.

Warning: This mic is very noisey, it'll sound pretty cool on loud sources. I would replace the transformer if I had it. Also pay attention to loading on this mic, it has a impedeance switch to match it up with yor pre's.

Good luck.

Thanks guys

Thanks for the link ametth.
The main problem is the mic end. it is a screw connection with three prongs?
Well
I will think a bout it some more.

Yeah, you should be able to get one from Shure. Or look around some used junk stores...who knows..you may find one. Or just call up ampehnol and get your connector and make a cable.
