Need an idea for an 'event'...

Hi all,

There's a competition going at the moment for 3 young artists to win £30,000 each to fund their work for a year. My idea is essentially an album (as well as a video shoot) but someone else asked the judges if a pressed album would be enough...the response was...

"I'm afraid a CD wouldn't be enough, there must be some kind of presentation or showing. Perhaps you could stage a gig where you play your new songs or have a listening party?"

I think they want some sort of final event, especially as a lot of the entrants will be film makers and writers for theatre. Could anyone suggest something that could be unique? I think my album idea is unique enough so I don't want to overshadow it with an elaborate event...and I don't think a gig would go down well. The album's theme is a wild west sort of thing.

I was thinking on like a documentary of the album ie start to finish, writing to recording, then a screening at a local independent picture house - to do this though I'd need some supporting documentary making content in my online portfolio - so I'd have to get a move on!

Any ideas would be really appreciated though, I'm just after some feedback and advice. Thanks :D

If you're doing video in support of your album, wouldn't you want the music to be the focal point of the presentation? I'd think an extended music video (a la Daft Punk's Intastella 5555 or The Beastie Boys' Fight for Your Right revisited)
