Hi!

I'm looking for a good recording tool. Initially, my choice was PCI audio recording card like M-audio Omni studio with Delta 66. But it doesn't have midi in/out, which I need to input notes from the keyboard to my sequencing program.

Checked out M-audio website and found THE OZONE serves me on both audio and midi side.

It does have 2x2 audio and midi interface. The only drawback, as I found from this website, is it's USB which may have high latency for audio recording.

Since I'm gonna have lots of audio recording and some midi for my drum lines and keyboards, is it good to go with OZONE? Or I better go with the Omni and add midi keyboard (in the scenario, I have to add a good performance soundcard for the keyboard coz my sound-on-board is super s**k).

Please help! Thanks!

A midiman midisport 2x2 midi interface costs something like $69 at GC. I like the idea of the ozone but wouldn't think of it as my main recording solution. In my opinion, I think you're right about USB not being able to keep up with all the audio you'll be doing. I would stick with the omni studio, a delta66 and a midisport. Of course, the delta 1010 can be had for around 500 new nowadays and that has everything you need, sans preamps, so you might want to save what you got for that... :)

Hi Stone

Thanks for the idea...One question though.

If I use Midisport with Omni, can the notes (midi data) from a keyboard be transfered directly to my sequencing program if I connect Midisport to "Aux in" on Omni? Or I can record only audio from the keyboard.

I know that Delta 1010 doesn't have mic pre-amp but has midi in/out. This may be one of my choices too.

Thanks!
