So i moved to live in university halls and i can't play too much or sing loud , because i have neighbours now and that really annoys me. Is there any way to isolate at least some sound that goes through the walls or through the door ? I was thinking about getting acoustic foam or something like that, but i'm really not sure how much i would need and if i would be allowed to stick anything to the walls
You can see what type of room it is in the picture taken from uni's website as i'm not allowed to post links yet Untitled11.webp

Unfortunately, no. No amounts of foam or bass traps will stop sound going through the walls (and NOTHING will without construction). Do NOT fall for the marketing, "soundproofing foam" is an oxymoron.

More on isolation here: Why is Soundproofing Important?
