I'd like to buy an audiocard that has at least 4 analog inputs and that can be used on my laptop (2.66 ghz.) I have both firewire and USB2 available.

It will be used mostly for demos and backing tracks for live performances. I don't care about digital interfaces, and I only need stereo return.

Any suggestions?

My first thought was the Quatafire 610 looked pretty good since it had everything I need for a reasonable price. Then I checked out the features on the Edirol FA-101. It seems like for an extra $100 I get quite a bit more. Now granted I don't presently need more than the Quatafire offers, but it's not a bad idea to have a little room for growth.

I already knew that USB was problematic. Really too bad since it's more prevalent in the pc world.

Anyway thanks to all three of you for answering, and I'd enjoy hearing critiques from anyone using either soundcard.
