You guys are a great resource, I was looking at some other threads and you rock.
Anyway... I feel quite secure and efficient with Sonar, and I can fly through sessions and takes pretty well now, as well as take advantage of a lot of features, but then this happens...
I'm in a session... we finish a song with a 4 count at the start. Suddenly, someone says "hey, that would sound real cool with some feedback and a drum buildup at the begining."
I didnt have time to figure it out so I had to make a seperate project and export it later to the original where we wanted it. That sucked cause I felt kinda stupid about it.

One other thing you guys might have figured out.
I need a faster easier way to punch in a part. The way we are supposed to do it seems slow and bulky and sometimes it seems better just to redo the whole damned track.

Oh... one more thing... is there a way to cut all my tracks at once at the now time? Say I have 10 tracks and there is a break in the music and we want t ostart from there cause there was a messup in the part after it. I want to set my now time in the break, cut all the tracks at once, and delete everything past that point. That can be a little slow and cumbersome too, any tricks would be appreciated.

Peace.

I'm not familiar with Sonar, but in GT Pro the easiest way to shift tracks in time is right click on the track, Event Properties, then adjust the start time.

As far as cutting several tracks at once, position the line where you want to cut, hold the CTRL key down and select each track you want to cut. That will highlight each one. Then right click, Split, then del the bits you don't want

To add time at the beginning of a project:

1. Edit -> Select -> All
2. Process -> Slide
Set it for Measures and increase the counter to the number of measures you want to add. Then click OK.

You can also split all clips at once by choosing Edit -> Select -> All and placing the cursor where you want to make the cut and type "S" on the keyboard. Obviously you can only use this when you want to split ALL your tracks at the same point. If you only want to split some of them, do it Bulls Hit's way.
