Hi everyone, I love writing songs and I have various songs of different genres....How do I get hold of producers to publish my songs and most important how do I approach them. I do need the contact details of many of them so that I can approach them at large. I know that this is not easy …but I do have confidence in my lyrics and know that they have a chance.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

There are any number of books, magazine articles and on line sites that address this.

The Songwriters Handbook (which comes out every year) lists publishers, the genre of music they focus on, what format that accept, etc. etc.

As a general rule, no one accepts unsolicited material, so you have to make intial contact and get permission to submit material. Normally, no more than 2-3 songs with your best song first. Don't try to impress a publisher wth all the genres you write in. Focus on on genre (that which you write best in and that which the publisher wants).

There are many groups that you can join which list publishers, producers, managers, etc. who are looking for material (Taxi is one group that most people have heard of - but there are many others). Annual membership fees can run from about $150 to $400 plus.

The competition is fierce, so make sure you know that you are good!!!

A music industry attorney is also a good way to submit your material.
