need a little help

help with Fostex model 80

Hey there ! .I'm a newbie to this forum . Just recently aquired 2 fostex reel to reel machines , model 20 , model 80 . Along with came some interfaces , synch's and a controller . My question is , the M80 has an issue with the capstan motor . It appears that its *pooched* . I've managed to check that the other tranport functions work , but not for too long . As the fuse eventually blows , and I'm assuming its because the motor does'nt wanna turn anymore . Is , or has anyone else experienced this type of symptom ?

Can you tell which Motor was used? I have several Fostex machines. E2 B16D E 8
They all use the same Capstan Motor which is a Print Motor. UGPMEE-09-FX12 .
If it is this one it may be repairable. If it is the Brushes that have worn out in the Motor.
The motor Manufacturer is Yaskawa. Is it this motor? You mave have to remove some PCBs to see that.

I actually got er goin ! , SOMEONE installed some sortta (small) switch ,which I ddid'nt see before . Seems to be in good health so far . Now jus have to figure out the sync modules n' stuff . Could still be more Q's down the way .
