All--

This is a little mellow something i came up with while noodling around this past weekend. i've got the melody in my mind........i just haven't been able to decide what should carry that melody. maybe mandolin?

so i thought i might put it out here for y'all to chime in on. thoughts?

I am listening now... give me a few minutes to absorb it!

I am thinking mandolin doubled with a 12-string panned hard left and right.

thanks mate, that's kinda what i had in mind--at least with respect to the mando.

as for the 12er......true 12er or maybe nashville strung guitar instead? i'm wondering if the true 12er would be a little too close in texture to the mando?

how's the rest of the mix? decent?

You may need to roll off some of the highs when you do the final mix, but everything was sitting quite nicely.

I would go with regular 12, simply because I was implying going for a similar tone, but with noticeable difference in the chord voicings that you can't play on a mandoline.

thanks Rokket. it's nice to know that my ASP8's are translating. :D i can't say i spent more than 15 minutes on the mix itself. pretty much pushed up the faders and it was done.

interesting that it might have a little too much high end....typically my mixes have been too dark. :D

that's an excellent idea. a capo'd 12er would definitely have a "similar but different" thing going on.

i appreciate the feedback!

No problem! Post it again when you are finished with it, I'd love to hear the changes you've made!

absolutely!

one a side note, would you believe that the "nylon string guitars" are midi loops? :P

I wondered about that, but hey, let's not pick apart the results...
