Nashville New Music Conference (2NMC) is currently looking for panelists. Dates this year are September 10-13th.

www.2nmc.com has general conference info. www.2nmc.com/how_to/panelist-mentor.html has info on how to get on a panel. Brandi Surface (brandi@2nmc.com) is the person you'll need to talk to.

Panels are the usual, indie music conference topics including:

demo listening sessions
A&R
internet/niche marketing
radio promotion
management
booking
legal issues for bands
music publishing

We'll also be having special, genre specific panels for urban and Christian artists, so let us know if you're involved in one of those areas.

If you have any questions, feel free to respond here.

You need to get Swindell involved in the "Legal issues for bands" panel. He's been in jail more times than anyone I know!

We did a conference call on this last week. Will have it up on the web shortly.

When that happens, I'll post it here.

The scary thing is I have done a few of these mostly as guest speakers for recording, production schools. Its great when some people get it and its also fun to watch others who couldn't give a crap about live music fall asleep in the session.
Talking about how to present your project in terms of forwarding dates with buyers, simplifying stage plots, input list that make sense, what to expect when using supplied backline, soundman and lighting rigs. The do's and don'ts of festival gigs. Why some bands sound great and others don't.
The last one I did in Montreal a few weeks back with this great lighting guy and the guitar tech from the band Kittie.
Cheers
