AGCurry said:Made in Mexico. And they're very nice guitars.
AGCurry said:I had one for a couple of years and sold it to buy a G&L ASAT, whose neck was too narrow for my fat fingers. Shoulda kept the Tele. Worst thing about it was some single-coil 60-cycle buzz, but I'm too lazy to do stuff like install shielding or shop for new pickups. Great value for the $. And it was a beautiful piece, black with tortoise-shell pickguard.
TelePaul said:Thanks bud! I am quite taken by them, do ya play one? Theres a 'power' version, which has piexo tranducers in the bridge, have ya tried that one? I think it'll probably be my next guitar, that or a tele with a humbucker.
Anfontan said:Paul, you need to check out the Dimarzio Chopper T for your bridge pickup replacement. I have them in a couple of my Teles and I use a coil tap push pull tone pot to activate it. In humbucking mode there is no hum and when switched into single coil mode its got great twang as well.
See DiMarzio pickup here!

TelePaul said:Man thats awesome and all but I should say I'm not nearly comfortable enough with guitars to try fit somehting like that myself. And I should also explain; guitar shops here aren't like the ones in the states...they're just one big clusterfuck after another. Unless you're gonna blow a grand there and then on a guitar they won't gve you the steam off their piss. It's really annoying because it puts a limit as to what you can do with a guitar.
Also, as of now, I have the one electric, the Highway One, and I love it to bits. It's my first 'proper' guitar and would be kinda duboous about modifications to it...however, I have plans to get at least one other tele next year, and I might think about beefing that up. Right now, I'm just letting the single coil hum get to me![]()
JCH said:What are you using for a neck pu? I'm building a tele, and I'm not sure how I'll rig it. The Chopper looks cool.
I went to the Dimarzio site, and was happy to see the dragonforce guys on their homepage. Herman Li is an awesome player. I wish they'd come play Vegas.
Sorry for the hijack Paul.
Hey Tony !Anfontan said:Hey True, whats up? You have strayed from the home base-Rep thread~

jdier said:Hey, Tele Paul. I would strongly suggest you DO get into and familiar with some simple guitar wiring. I was like you and did not do any of it. Then at the Seymour-Duncan site I met a bunch of guys who encouraged me to do it and then walked me through how to do it. I started on some very cheap chinese guitars, but the results have been so good and I have gotten so comfortable that I recently swapped all of the electronics in my Mexican Fender Toronado.
The change you can make with new pick ups or a new wiring scheme is incredible. I have been really happy with my choices. Head on over to the forums at Seymourduncan.com and read up on tele pick up choices. You will be blown away by the number of knowledgable people there.
Good luck.
BTW, Fender does also make a US version of the nashville tele.
Yeah there should be a std version also the b bender just came back into production over the last year ...TelePaul said:Yeah I know its an entirely unused resource I should be availing of. I think you're right, I'll buy a cheap strat-style and work from there. The US version, is that the 'B-Bender'? Or do they a more standard Nashville?
