cool! I'd like to hear what it sounds like, get Mike Rowe in there haha

Well done. I too would be interested in hearing the sound. Include your chain too please.

I've attached an MP3 with some before and after narration from the booth. As for the chain....it's a short one. Since I'm only doing straight narration, there is no need for multi-channel mixing, etc. One guy, one mic. I'm using an AT-2020 USB condenser mic directly into a Lenovo G570 laptop. As far as software, I have both Audacity (1.3.14 alpha, slightly modified...thanks again Ed) and Sound Forge (10.0), but for what I'm doing, Audacity is easiest.
Let me know your thoughts.

Thebori,

Simply stunning. Absolutely love the clean and direct sound. Great job!

This thread should be used to beat noobs around the head with when they fail to appreciate the importance of room treatment.

Seriously! sticky this!

Yes without a doubt Paul! This clip show exactly what we have all been talking about.

Very impressive improvement in the sound. Great work! You've inspired me to start work on an isolation booth for vocalist and acoustic instruments.

WOW!!!! Hearing the difference has inspired me to do my room. You have an awesome voice for narration. Incredible!!!!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm pleased that I've inspored some of you to build your own rooms. Looking forward to seeing an hearing the final result.
