is this safe? what why and how. napster napster napster.

It's safe (for your computer anyway). Also unlikely that the audio police are going to come after each of the hundreds of thousands of users. More likely they will go after Napster itself - which they are already doing. In the end it will eventually be shut down (or co-opted into charging for the service somehow).

In the meantime, you need to ask yourself if your conscience will allow you to screw the musicians out of their hard earned royalties. Tough call, since most of it goes to the record companies anyway.

To me it's mostly a moral issue - but to answer your initial questions, it's safe and you're not likely to go to jail for using it.
 
i really don't think your fuckin' any artist when using napster. The only artists who have massive losses thru napster are the big ones like metallica and shit. and as they have made millions by getting people to pay for there cd they shouldn't be pissed off when some don't pay for shitty mp3's.
I'm in a band and i would LIKE having 10 million people downloading my track as that would generate such a huge buzz that my cd-sales would go skyhigh.
i know there's a lot of discussion going on on this subject so if your bored with it : sorry ;)

When your cd comes out I'm gonna buy it and upload the whole thing,just to prove a point;)
 
Ummm , folks,
Napster recently made a deal with Bertlesman
(BMG), and will form a partnership with them,
and presumably the 5 other leading Labels.

Napster will soon be charging a monthly fee
for the privilege of downloading songs.
The NYTimes mentioned $5.95 a month.

Therefore, the Napster debate is finally over,
like it or not. I personally think they sold
out to the big boys just like everybody does,
but the point is moot.
Everybody get out those credit cards........David
 
could you imagine all those credit card numbers flying around on the one site. a credit card hackers dream!

I know some friends of mine who moved to harlemm(did I spell it right) The pasterkamp's .The dad is a preacher Man.
I particularly know his son MARk pasterkamp.
It's a long shot But you might 'ave heard of them
