There are four racks, 18U per rack. Number them 1-4, left to right, and start guessing what is in the racks.

Fun adventure for anyone into older gear :)

Frederic.... are we just going to use our imaginations, or did you have some pics to look at?!? ;)
 
The load-in begins, huh? Pretty cool. I'm not much of an expert so I'm just going to look and drool..........

Any wiring in place yet (or just doing the "easy" stuff first?)?

DDev - My initial load was to organize the equipment by function. I tried to put the outboards together, and the synth type stuff together as well, with an Emagic Unitor (or AMT-8) in each rack. Unfortunately, I've discovered I can't count, as I have more gear than rack space. So I'm debating extending out one more rack, or getting a little more serious about deciding what I will realistically use, and sell the rest off.

Everything in the rack now is powered, and midified. Audio wiring hasn't commenced yet because I've realized I have more gear than "U" spaces, thus leaving me with several patch bays to put *somewhere*.

One of those minor snags :)
 
Hard to see...but in rack two...you have your pair of ART FXR multi effects processors at the top...probably mid to late 90's... and further down your Lexicon mpx100 reverb..

I am going to guess some other pieces like a DOD reverb...or along those lines.. that rack looks like the effects/reverb rack with the units being of the late 80's to 90's era.

I know my cheap equipment!!

No ADA digital delays??? :eek:
probably the best chorus and flanger still made!! :cool:

oh...you know you can move those boxes of screws on top, and slap a couple of Alesis Wedges up there, ya know... killer verb for the typical Ebay price nowadays.
 
72 spaces is not enough, huh? Well, you can always just send the un-rackable gear to me and that will take care of it :D

But, seriously, I'd just add a new section on top of the producer's elbow pad towards the outside wall and make as much extra space as I needed. It will clutter that one section a little bit, but will still leave plenty of space for someone to prop their elbows.

Ok...

Rack 1 is too dark for me to see

Rack 2 has a pair of ART processors, followed by a pair of older Alesis processors, followed by a Behringer DSP-1000, don't know the next few but then there is a Zoom processor and what looks to be a Real Tube/Chandler guitar preamp.

Rack 3 has an old drum machine on top... maybe a Korg one? Then something I can't see, followed by an Alesis D-4... don't know what's in the middle, but the bottom looks like old Yamaha gear... SPX-90s?

Rack 4 - can't tell the top, but the bottom looks like an older Sony sound processor, Korg sampler, Roland sound modules (D-110?) and then some Akai samplers.

I might be wayyyy off... I can barely see the stuff :)

yeah...he's got all that $100/1u crap like me!! ...and the occassional nice one :p

but...sure didn't spend that little originally :(
 
First rack at the bottom looks like a Nakamitchi Cassette deck. Perhaps the 1000 model or the CR-7A from the early 80's. Above it looks like a couple of TASCAM MDMs, maybe DA98's?

Behrigner Virtualizer Pro (this is probably the ony thing of thesere I like)
Blank Panel, to be replaced with another Unitor 8 when it arrives
Oz Audio HR4 headphone amp
Behringer Compressor Pro (which is tolerable)
Symetrix 488 Octal compressor (nice unit for having no knobs to speak of)
Zoom "Studio" thing. I only use it for flanging
Behringer Ultra Curve Pro (this goes between my console and my front amp)

At the bottom is a Roland VP70 Voice Processor.

Rack 3:
Kawai R-100 Drum machine (with for proms!) This I really like.

Peavey Bass module (has decent slap-basses)

Roland MDC1 Dance module (pulled off the market for unlicensed samples, nice, huh?)
Korg Triton
Roland SC550 sampler
Roland MKS100 sampler (uses stupid 2.5" quick disks, of which I have a billion of)
Akai S700 sampler (2), also uses stupid 2.5" quick disks, which I have less akai ones, but both samplers take sysex sample dumps. I use for left, and one for right, giving me stereo samples. They sit on the same midi channel.

You guys guessed really, really well! I expected much less since the picture was rather horrible!
 
Well, since you have too much gear for your racks, I'd be happy to take that Oz off your hands :D

heh-heh. There are similar units on e-bay as I type this. One Samson, and one rolls I think. At least two were rackmount, if you're in the market for such a thing. The Samson unit is fairly quiet too.

No I want another Oz . . . I already have one and it's yummy.

Actually I ordered one from an online vendor who will remained unnamed last month, and they never bothered to process my order. Odd.
