yes
How are these things. im lookin for a decent vocal mic that sounds better then my marshall 990 or whatever it is($the 100 gc one)

thanks.

They aren't really vocal mics, but if you set them up in front of a guy playing a guitar and singing, you'd get a good recording.

Well, that doesn't make any sense.

Sure it does... what he is saying is you wouldn't use it for a vocal track on a multi track recording ... but if you want to make a stereo recording of a guitar and vocalist it will make a quality recording of the performance.

Yeah, but I don't have a good technical explanation.

I've never done any serious vocal recording with my MSH-1, but I do use it on acoustic guitar all the time. I'm not sure if they're intended for vocals or not.

It's a very detailed mic. What you hear is what you get.

I was surprised at how well the MSH4 handled vocals---definitely better than the MXL990.

I"m sure the MSH-4 with a Cardioid Capsule would be OK for Vocals and even micing guitar cabs and such....

Cheers

I was surprised

Hi,

I was surprised at how the msh1-0 handled my rather low radio voice while I was testing the mic. Big and breathy and boomy almost like proximity effect.

The wind screen definitely helped close micing. I think I'll try it with a pop filter.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry
