Our church does gigs every few months with a small choir and a live band. The band plays loudly enough that the singers can't hear themselves without the monitors, and we can't seem to get the singers hot enough in the monitor mix for them to sing comfortably without massive feedback.

So I'm contemplating a wireless monitor system for them. Has anyone used the Nady PEM500 system recently? The Shure system is just entirely unaffordable ($360 per receiver x 12), and the low end Nady is single channel, which would limit flexibility too much.

Anybody?

urgh... choirs and foldback... ugly...

I haven't used the Nadys, but any in-ears sohuld be OK, espically if it's just for a choir (as opposed to a single artist). Also, choirs who haven't had experience with in-ears are less likely to scream in your face if you get the mix wrong...

Just make sure you follow the usual points for in-ears: Always start at zero and work up, put out some audience mics so the artists can get a "feel" for the room... blah blah.

So, in the absence of other answers, sure, go with the nadys. You'll probably also find it easy enough just to buy one transmitter and 12 beltpacks.
