Nady Scm 950

Does anybody here have the nady scm 950? I think it's a nice little mic but i rarely hear of anyone having one besides me.

Yup, you probably are the only one with it. I own the SCM 900. It is by far my least favorite microphone.

I bought the 920 because it was cheap and multi pattern. I thought it was nice when I first got it (years ago). I pulled it out of the drawer to compare it to some of the nicer mics I have. My reaction was "blech!!!". Bright, brassy and harsh.

The 950 has a warm rich silky tone. It's not bright like most cheap mics are. I'm startin to like the little devil. When i record in 16/44 it sounds average. When i record in 24/96 that's when i get that tone.

Not to doubt you, but what other mics do you have with which you're comparing it? I thought the same things about a few cheap mics until I got better educated about what qualities and sonic characteristics a mic should have.
