Thanks Jeff but looking at these a little more and reading the FAQ closely, they're the clamp type which means the reel will be actually touching the reel table and may not be aligned perfectly with the tape path. Ok, so that's why they mention "spacers" sometimes being needed between the reel table and reel. Hmmm... Yeah, I think just getting the proper adapters (and more costly) might be a better idea.
 
I have the teac models of these on my 34 and they work great.
 
I actually own a pair of these for my 3340. They don't work stock, but if you put rubber holders over them, they're fine.
