o.k., i have n-track for multi track, but is there another CHEAP program that is good for all the stuff n-track doesn't do?

Jimmy, what are you looking to include in the "what it doesn't do" catagory? Effects? if thats the case you can use any outside plug ins for the effects you need, N-tracks will work with them. In a nutshell, no, there is no cheap software that comes even close to N-tracks. In many ways it out guns some of the expensive things I have seen.

i mean effects and editing. i always read how people say they just use it for mutli tracking. then they send it to another program for the rest. so i just asumed it wasn't the greatest for editing, mastering and what not.

You'll want at least a decent .wav editor like Goldwave or Sound Forge, but some of the packaged stuff: CW, CoolEdit includes some facsimile of same. SF XP is well worth the $50 it fetches. Even Vegas Pro at >$500 has no .wav editor included, so please don't dump on Flavio for leaving this out.

bingo! thats what i wanted to know thanks! i'm just curious, but why couldn't you edit in n-track? i assume if you wanted to you could, but is there some reason those others programs are better?
