I open ntrack and i go to the 6 meters on the left side. (working with a delta 44 here). Why are there 6 meters if there are only 4 inputs:confused: ... thats another question. But i go to them and i try to set the bit depth of the track and input assignment so each meter reads the right input... but as soon as i do that ntrack crashes. I have the latest delta drivers, win2k, and uhh.. thats it.

Hi Kristian
Go into preferences- wave devices and select only those inputs you will be immediately tracking with. The same # of recording vu meters will show up.Again, only channels you plan to arm should be selected.I have a 10X C-Port and if tracks are selected as above but not armed,I get an "error - chunk has no data" message. If,however I only select the channels I plan to arm,n-track handles the multi inputs fine (up to the limits of my 10 simultanious breakout box).
With so many different systems out there, this might not even be applicable to your needs. But your problem sounds close enough to what happened to me,you might want to give my workaround a try.

There's a glitch with the Delta44...I'm guessing that the extra VU meters are SPDIF leftovers, since the Delta44 and Delta66 use the same driver, and are basically the same card. That's just a guess though. I ignore the extra set of VU meters. Optionally, you can define the maximum number of input and outputs in n-Track someplace, and that'll get rid of extra meters.

I have no idea what your other question is in regards to. You should leave the bit depth in the recording VU meter to 24bit.

yes. I have set the inputs in the preferences for WDM, and the proper channels of the delta. I don't have this problem with a delta 1010, just the 44. It seems that when i try to set the proper input to the VU meter, it breaks. dunno what the deal is.

No that's not what I mean. You can specifiy the "maximum number of inputs" and "maximum number of outputs" somewhere in the maze of wave device settings. They are both set to a default of something like 16. If you set max input channels to 4, you won't see the extra two meters. You're seeing this with the Delta44 because it doesn't have SPDIF, yet I think to n-Track it appears to.

ok, yea got that part. So now they are set to the right channels. i hit monitor for 1 & 2, and it shoots to 0dB. full clip it goes nuts if i record it like that. Then for channels 3 & 4 if i hit monitor, now it crashes. I guess i got a little further:rolleyes: . Maybe i need to move the slots for the delta 44. I saw someone posted a chard on which slots share IRQs with AGP slots etc.
