Dammit, Jim, Shut Up!
Harvey--In the last thread on this subject, I was last heard bitching about how crappy this mic sounded. Well, I took it back and bought another one from another store. New mic is completely different and much more of what I expected. It works great for toms, actually. I'm so pleased I'm going to get two more!

So, to make a long story short, I got a bad mic the first time. So my first impression was based on a defective mic. No wonder we had some confusion. And Harvey--your rep remains sterling as ever and even more so in my book. This is a great little mic. The Sennhieser version is about 120 bucks vs 30 for this one. Thanks for your reply, cause it helped me to get to the bottom of this. If you had not questioned me, I would have just took it back--end of story.

I've heard a lot about this mic in threads but I haven't checked it out yet. Can you post a link to it or get me the radio shack piece # or whatever it is?

Where a great cheap mic exists, can Gidge be far behind? :D

And the Crawmeister will be right there with him! I picked up two more of these things tonight on my way to work. Heck, they sound great, they're only $30 each right now, and they come with that cool clip on mic holder, which saves me even more money because thats a couple of boom stands or drum mic clips I don't have to buy. I feel pretty lucky to have Harvey here on the forum. Every mic he's recommended that I have bought has been great. And these are no exception.
