please help me!! ive been trying to figure out how to get my songs on myspace for the past 3weeks now!! when i try to upload the song, it says that the file is too large! ive tried exporting to file as pretty much everything, and it still wont work. the file is either too large, or not recognisable as an mp3!!

any ideas?

1. Stop cross posting
2. Use the newbie section for awhile till you get used to posting on this site.
3. Make smaller mp3's and use http://www.lightningmp3.com/ for hosting your files. My space kills your music.

thanks for the replies, but how do you create smaller mp3's? im not sure which type will be the smallest. there are different options such as, wave, wave 64, real audio, mpeg, windows media etc. there are also different options in each of these categories.

apparently myspace kills music!? hmmm

Haha... different types of mp3's...

those aren't all mp3's, bro. wav files are HUGE. you need to export as MPEG layer 3 (mp3).

and btw, don't feel too bad. we were all new to this stuff at one time. :D

*and on mp3, if you're putting stuff on internet sites, you'll probably just go with 128kb. 44.1khz

Hopefully by doing these tips I will be able to load some of my songs to myspace, instead of getting them loaded only for them to delete themselves without my permission.

Save your song in .wma format. Then go to download.com and do a search for WMA to MP3 converter. Download that program and convert using 128 kb and 44.1khz as warrengtype mentioned. You'll get 30 free conversions then you have to buy the program. That's a strategy I've found to work quite well and doesn't kill the song too terribly much. But if you are a sound quality snob, soundclick is definitely your best bet, as mymorningstar has forementioned.

Wrong. Google search for 'NCH switch' and you'll get a completely free program to do it with, no conversion limit

Um...I just use "export audio mixdown" in Cubase (SX3) - it gives you a whole set of dropdown options regarding the mp3 quality, and it's easier than pie. No need for external conversion programs.

Of course, as this is in the "Cubase" forum, I'm assuming it's Cubase being used in the creation of the tracks...

Some people don't mind paying $20 bucks for a program if they like the way it works and they want to help support the company who made it. Yes free is good but it's not always the only option. I happen to like WMA to MP3 converter and I plan on using it for awhile. So there really is no "wrong" about it.
