Hey All, I finally convinced my wife our cars would be happiest out on the street with all their friends.....so here's my new studio....a trip or two to home depot and ta-dah! Odd part is I can't get anyone to come use it....I can't even give away studio time here in Hawaii (i've actually tried)....anyway....it has that real garage band feel, sound, and new car smell...and yes that is peg board/pegs holding my guitar collection......I've been eyeballin the neighbors new tool shed.....it'd make a nice iso booth.....lemme know what you think.

Thanx for lookin.

That's pretty nice!
I can't believe people actually have lava lamps!:)
I guess mine'll be the only one with out them.:(

Thanx for the comments.....yes, chics do dig lava lamps...thats why they are a must have item.......if anybody has any new unique ideas for drumming up businesss please let me know .... I have the usual ads at the music stores but I need to record other folks besides me and my friends...surprisingly the music scene in hawaii is pretty lame...go figure....tourist don't go on vacation to hear all original bands......once I get my orders uncle sam is shipping me off this rock and back to the conjoined states....it won't be for 3 years yet so I need to record!!!!

ahhh the lava lamp -- no wonder I haven't been creative lately. Have to get one ASAP!

that must be so depressing for HogansHiro: he's showing us his studio -- and all we talk about is the fricking lava lamp!

Seriously: cool setup, Hogan, and a cool wife if she doesn't mind you pursuing your interests and occupying an entire room for that.

;)

Nice place -- one thing you might try is seeking places where musicians are playing (churches, clubs, coffee houses, etc.) and hand them a card with a "first 5 hours free" offer, or "first song free" offer -- something that helps them appreciate that you do recognize your studio and time has value, but that also makes them feel like you are giving them a deal.

Just a thought,

-lee-

Thanx for the input

.....I guess it's a good thing I didn't show the rest of my studio...I have even more sensless ambiance ligthing ... I need to get organized though right now stuff is just strewn across desk tops ...I'm trying to convince the wife I need an argosy console ;)

LOL the giant lavalamp !

Should be included with every console... Anyone an SSL Flying bubbles(tm) lavalamp (with automatic recall!).

I've finally decided to quit investing in high-end audio gear and just get a really nice matched pair of gold-sputtered lava lamps. I'm still experimenting with lava lamp placememnt in regards to a good mix. I find a lava lamp placed slightly off center from your monitor really addds a whole new dimension.
