The overall vibe is nice. The acoustic sounds pretty good --- maybe a little heavy on the pick transients for my taste, but that's just a personal thing.

This sounds like a backing track though for a vocal song. Are there supposed to be vocals?

I like the little bongo part, but it sounds a little small and dry.

The bass sounds a little rough at times ... there were a few wrong notes (or atleast notes that clashed a bit with the chords)

If this isn't a vocal song, I would suggest adding a melody of some sort. I couldn't tell what the instrument was in the beginning that was doing a really high melody, but it seemed to be lacking something. It didn't really seem to work, from an arrangement standpoint. It was also buried in the mix a bit, so it was tough to make out exactly what was going on.

It seemed to go on a bit long to not have some kind of memorable melody.

Anyway ... that's my two cents.
 
it's about? ok, i was waiting and waiting :) nice sounds. I like the acoustic sound you got, would like to know how you got it. Thought it was a long intro, but a better one than most. I'm singing in my head a melody, so are you gonna put a vocal? seems like there's plenty of room.
 
I can't wait to hear the vocals......The harmonica/keys need to be a little more up front as well as the bongo's!

The acoustic guitar has been captured rather sweetly!

Let's hear the vocals or a melody line on guitar.

HOLLLLY CRAP!! Some how I attached the clip without vox in it. I have no idea how I did that. Man I bet you guys were confused. no wonder all the attention went to the instruments. haha. ok, try it again, by the way, listen to the lo-fi, or download it with mp3, the hi-fi version is crapping out.

What you do is let it download in hi-fi before listening to it....then it is fine! :)

yes, good ears, as for the guitar sound, I used a 4040, at the 10th fret angled slightly toward the sound hole, about 6 inches from the guitar
 
anyone else? How bout you guys that heard the "without vox" one, what do you think now that you heard the vox, disappointed?
 
Very nice tune. Well thought out. I think there are a couple vocal lines that go off pitch and need a re-take. However the vocal recording itself is really good.
There are a few lyric lines that I would re-write,..personal preference there.

Overall,..very good songwriting and recording in my opinion.
