Hey Guys.
OK. Im connected to a Behringer MX802a...Im running into the sound cards (SB Live) line in via the RCA outputs on the mixer.
Is that the best way to connect it to the computer? Also...would larger guage cabling yield better results?

Also, is it smart to run MIC-->MIXER-->COMPRESSOR-->SOUND CARD? or is the compressor in the wrong place? its seeems to be working...

If you are wanting to compress the entire mix coming out of the mixer, then yes, you have it in the right place (or if you only have one singal coming into the mixer). If you want to compress a singal signal (or a signal singully :D)that is going in to the mixer then, as C7sus says, use the insert jack if you have them. The RCA outs are fine to use, if you wanted balanced lines then you need to be coming out of a XLR or 1/4" TRS outs, but the SBlive surely isn't balanced, so no worries about using the RCA's.

Higher guage cable would yield WORSE results. Lower guage cables, MAY make better results, but that depends. With the equipment you have it probably wouldn't matter. Higher guage=thinner cable, lower guage=heavier cable. The compressor could go there. If you are only puttin vocals through the mixer then its fine. It's just everything going through the mixer will be affected by the compressor. You could put it on an AUX send and return too, i believe your mixer has one.
