The only piece I have in my rack is a Sytek MPX-4A. When I record drums in my tiny basement room, the signal tends to peak on the overheads, is there something that I can buy that can reduce the input with compromising sound? Is that was a limiter does?

Sorry if that's a stupid question, I'm new to this.

If a limiter is what I need, what is a good dual channel limiter? I don't mind doing some simple mods to a Alesis 3630 if it will work. I really only want to spend a hundred bucks or so, because it's rare that I have a drum kit in my studio. Thanks

That's what she said...

Sorry...couldn't help it. An attenuator on the mic cable(s) will reduce the levels without messing with the audio.

Depending upon how much signal you need to drop, they come in different levels of attenuation.

Good luck!
