My band is finally starting to take off, so I've decided to collect all of my home recording stuff and collect and remaster it and put it all on one CD for friends and family... sort of a definitive collection.

This track is actually something that I recorded and eventually scrapped altogether. I can clearly remember deciding that it didn't make the cut and deleting everything related to it at all. But not before sending a mixdown to a friend of mine. I'm glad now that he decided to keep it because listening to it now, I think it may have been some of the best recording I've ever done.

I'm particularly proud of the vocals and bass. Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

hi,

this link won't work for me (mac user) are you at a hosted site like soundclick/ampcast or anything?

Hate to burst your bubble but the sound quality/production is pretty abyssmal.......

The drum machine sounds simply awful - too fast and out-of-context, especially during fills.

There's a mid-range honk to the whole track, leading me to beleive you went overboard with EQ on the final mix.... and there's no sense of space or imaging in the track at all.

On top of it, the song has a strange sense of not being cohesive - reminding me of a comedian doing a comical parody rather than a more serious cover attempt........

I'm assuming (and hoping) your recording skills have improved since then!

I will give this a spin when I get home tonight - I cant listen to it right now!!

I cannot hear this either - there must be something wrong with the link -sorry

It worked for me - but I had to download it instead of stream it........

I thought it was pretty good, barring the horrible drums. It's kinda hard to get past those hissing sounds that are supposed to sound like crashes. I enjoyed what you did with the vocals thouroughly, however, even though I'm not a big fan of the song.

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else, those drums are just aweful.

The guitar makes me nervous, I can't really tell why :|.

You've got some potential though, but start out with different drums..
