my notes are repeating

Something weird is going on.

When I input notes on the music staff view in Homestudio2004XL they repeat elsewhere in the track. If I try to delete the duplicate, it deletes the original as well. Somehow any notes I add are linked to somewhere else in the tracks, therefore, whatever changes I make in one measure are repeating in another measure within the track.

Am I going nuts or what?

Is there a way to unlink this mess.

Sounds like when you are copying you are pasting as 'Linking Clips', what happens here is that when you delete a note it one, it deletes all the other instances unless you paste the clips as non-linked. The option is a check box on the paste screen.

I haven't used clip linking since PA9, but then you could just right-click on a clip and select "Unlink".

Is that the reason when I add a note. it appears double on the staff. In other words I would add a C note on the staff, and another C note will appear as well, kind of attached to the hip.
